May 11th - Tobermory and Duart

·         Morning

·         Tobermory, Scotland, United Kingdom

Due to something about crazy water conditions we had our port changed to Tobermory, which was wonderful.  We did a wonderful hike for about 2 1/2 hours along the coast and then up to the top of the cliff.

Then into town for a quick look around and Bob got a pint, it was only 11 am so too early for me so had a pink lemonade. Bob did buy a tshirt to wear when he goes diving in the Canadian Tobermory.

It was hot almost mid70’s so one man in our group hiked without his shirt on, no pics of this as not something you want to see.

We then had a light lunch on our balcony as we cruise to our next stop for the day the castle listed below.

Afternoon

·         DUART CASTLE

·         Duart, Isle of Mull, Hebrides, United Kingdom

Standing proudly on a cliff top guarding the Sound of Mull, Duart Castle enjoys one of the most spectacular positions on the west coast of Scotland. In 1911 Sir Fitzroy Maclean repurchased and restored the castle, which is now occupied by Sir Lachlan Maclean, 28th chief of the clan Maclean.

Okay it was a castle and a bit cool but we are on a mission and that mission is to dominate at Trivia.  Janice H you would love our group.  They are cut throat and fun.  We came in second place, no way the other team knew all those answers.  But we laughed and that was what was important.

Having dinner in our balcony after watching the briefing online.  We plan to go up at midnight to watch to Northern lights up on the deck. Our butler told us that we are first couple to dine on the balcony in many cruises… but it is 20 so why not.

Other option is read all the Jame’s Bond trivia I can in next 3 hours and kill it at trivia again.  Studying over and not sure if any of my knowledge will help… Okay I now know a bit so off to see how we do.

So we won, not sure how thanks god for the others knowledge.

So excited that tomorrow is Puffin day.
