VOLCANO ATV EXPERIENCE Vestmannaeyjar , Iceland

      This was a great day and great place but I am tired and had to pack up today so will let you know what happened tomorrow when we are in the hotel in Reykjavik.  When we were heading to dinner there were already people with their luggage in the hallway, these are very organized folk.

       We came second in Expedition trivia and first in regular. So fun time had by all.  We cashed in our prizes and got two small stuffies.  They had tons of prizes left over from the Antarctic leg of the schedule so giving stuff away.  Don't worry we did take the pen from the room.

      The chief photographer on the ship made a lovely video of the highlights of the trip.  He did a fantastic job.  What a gift to have.

      So back to the activity for the day.  We were doing the ATV drive Bob has been waiting for.  What I learned is wear a tight helmet since the roads are rough and a helmet shifting on your head was not an extra bit of excitement that I needed.  The whole trip was fun but there was a surprise in the middle that some did not like, a hike to a cavern for a treat and drink.  I did not go into cavern.  The ride was faster than I thought it would be but very fun.

  Made a friend in the harbour.

 

Afternoon a Cruise past Surtsey

This is the newest island in the world, it popped up in 1963.  Very neat to see it but it was very cold and windy so only a few brave came outside to see it.

Off to bed as tomorrow we get off the boat at 9am.
