May 15th - Day at Sea

 

That is a very elegant pic for what a sea day means, plus a sea day when to waves a rocking.

We finally did breakfast in the restaurant as we usually do in suite, very few folk up by 9 when we arrived.  Then off to do some laundry and the place was empty.  But should have said it was disco night last night so….   We did not attend.

With laundry done we rushed off to pre lunch trivia but we were down a team member as Marlina was off sick, too many waves for her.  Well we tried and we came third. So only one point today but who knew how much an apple computer cost in the 1970’s.

We got the announcement we are now in the Arctic circle so that was very cool.  But it did not help with the sting of defeat.

Then it was off to the Indian buffet for lunch and then back to the room.  Bob is having a nap and I am catching up on Coronation Street.   Tonight is the chocolate extravaganza night but not sure if I will be awake for it as I have the early tour tomorrow as I am heading to see icebergs, a 2 1/2 hour bus ride each way.  Bob is doing the jeep tour so can sleep in.

Sorry no pics today but …here is a pic of the last piece of land we saw yesterday.

Tuesday April 30th - Leave for London

  Limo pick us up at noon and we head to YYZ Bags were packed early and we got picked up early by our Blacklane driver.  Quick trip to YYZ.  No lines at all at check in or security so safely in the lounge awaiting our flight.and  Bob found the sweet cart and the bar so we are good. We might even squeeze in a glass of bubbly.  Flights on American Airlines Leaving from Toronto to Charlotte North Carolina at 4:15 pm. This flight was delayed to 5:10 so we did not have much time to make our flight connection in Charlotte, luckily we were at front of the plane and the next gate was only about 15 minutes away.   Luckily had been checked through so Bob was able to have a quick Beer and sing O Canada before the Leaf game started, we have not watched it yet but know they won, all due to the singing in the bar. Flight to London Heathrow was good, lots of room up front.    Had a few bevies and dinner and then a nap.  It was quite bumpy so not much sleep....

May 11th - Tobermory and Duart

  ·          Morning ·          Tobermory,  Scotland, United Kingdom     Due to something about crazy water conditions we had our port changed to Tobermory, which was wonderful.  We did a wonderful hike for about 2 1/2 hours along the coast and then up to the top of the cliff.   Then into town for a quick look around and Bob got a pint, it was only 11 am so too early for me so had a pink lemonade. Bob did buy a tshirt to wear when he goes diving in the Canadian Tobermory.  It was hot almost mid70’s so one man in our group hiked without his shirt on, no pics of this as not something you want to see.      We then had a light lunch on our balcony as we cruise to our next stop for the day the castle listed below.
