May 19th - Golden Circle Trip

Golden Circle Full Day Tour from Reykjavik by Minibus

We meet the bus at 8am so glad the bus stop is only a quick walk away.  We get back at 5ish so a long day.

Tick through all of Iceland’s Golden Circle sights and more on a full-day tour from Reykjavik. Settle into a comfortable Mercedes Benz minibus and tour the country’s most celebrated natural treasures. Admire the Gullfoss waterfall and see the powerful Strokkur geyser at the Geysir geothermal area. Explore Thingvellir National Park to view the site of Iceland’s first parliament and the North American and Eurasian geological rift; and enjoy an extra stop to witness the beautiful Icelandic horses.

So this was the plan, we had packed a bag just for Iceland, this was to be the only bag to be opened.   Well the weather changed and Bob was very worried I would be cold so out came the rain pants and the whole cold weather jacket we got from the cruise, note the first time it had all been worn by me.  Bob was sure he would be fine with what he chose but added a Susan made hat “just in case”.  I can say this rivalled Cambridge, it rain it was windy and it was damn cold, at one point it snowed.  Yes friends it is mid May.   Bob was cold!  Here is a video from the first waterfall.  It was so windy we had to hold on to each other to stay standing and you all know that is a bid deal.

We did have fun even though it was damn cold.
Here are some pic highlights.

Now trying to figure out how to get out tickets to Blue lagoon to our phones, where is a 20something when you need them.   Going to try my choice for dinner tonight a Food Hall.  So drinking before I go as food price are NUTS here.
