May 4th - Boarding day

 


Bags are being picked up in the room at 5:45 am so early morning. 
A nice buffet breakfast again, yes Josh I had a hard boiled egg for breakfast, I trick you told me to do.   We had a brief chat with some other SilverSeaers who are new to the expedition thing so good to know we are not alone. 
Just having a quick clean up before we head down for the bus. 
We will leave London around 9:30 am and be taken to the ship by bus, should arrive around 12.  Looks like a lovely sunny day so might be a pretty drive.

  We then can have lunch and drinks on board while the other passengers arrive.

Then off to the briefings, a pre-dinner drink and then dinner at the Grill as the ship sets off.

The adventure continues.

We made it to the ship with only a slight traffic delay.  Who was the first on the ship.   Okay not us but almost us.  Like top 10.  Headed off to have lunch and a glass bubbly as we waited for the rest to board.  Very quickly we were told rooms were ready so off we went.  Room a bit smaller than last time but nothing to be sad about.  All the goodies were in the room, parkas, backpacks and water bottle.  





I made quick friends with Camilla the sommelier so we are good for next 14 days.

Dinner was great at the grill watching as we departed and the sun set.


I am tucked in bed, Bob has headed to Observation deck.
Our tour tomorrow leaves at 8 am so hope he will be back by then.

Tuesday April 30th - Leave for London

  Limo pick us up at noon and we head to YYZ Bags were packed early and we got picked up early by our Blacklane driver.  Quick trip to YYZ.  No lines at all at check in or security so safely in the lounge awaiting our flight.and  Bob found the sweet cart and the bar so we are good. We might even squeeze in a glass of bubbly.  Flights on American Airlines Leaving from Toronto to Charlotte North Carolina at 4:15 pm. This flight was delayed to 5:10 so we did not have much time to make our flight connection in Charlotte, luckily we were at front of the plane and the next gate was only about 15 minutes away.   Luckily had been checked through so Bob was able to have a quick Beer and sing O Canada before the Leaf game started, we have not watched it yet but know they won, all due to the singing in the bar. Flight to London Heathrow was good, lots of room up front.    Had a few bevies and dinner and then a nap.  It was quite bumpy so not much sleep....

May 11th - Tobermory and Duart

  ·          Morning ·          Tobermory,  Scotland, United Kingdom     Due to something about crazy water conditions we had our port changed to Tobermory, which was wonderful.  We did a wonderful hike for about 2 1/2 hours along the coast and then up to the top of the cliff.   Then into town for a quick look around and Bob got a pint, it was only 11 am so too early for me so had a pink lemonade. Bob did buy a tshirt to wear when he goes diving in the Canadian Tobermory.  It was hot almost mid70’s so one man in our group hiked without his shirt on, no pics of this as not something you want to see.      We then had a light lunch on our balcony as we cruise to our next stop for the day the castle listed below.
